Imphal, March 11 2015: The Rongmei Lu Phuam (RLP), the centre for Research and Advocacy, Manipur (CRAM) in a statement has expressed concern over the alleged inordinate delay and non-compliance of the State Government to provide relief of Rs 25,000 to a minor victim who was raped on Jan 1, 2014 at Happy Valley junction.

The statement said that the Session Judge, Imphal East had directed the State Government on July 17, 2014 to provide relief.

However, nothing positive has been forthcoming till date.

The victim and her family have been denied justice and such inordinate delay is a violation of the victim and women's rights, the statement added.

The statememt further urged the authority concerned to take up immediate steps to provide justice to the victim and ensure that rights of women are protected.
