Imphal, October 08 2017: A "Security Meet" was conducted by 6 Assam Rifles at Andro and Canchipur Company Operating Base of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) today, informed a press release of PRO IGAR (S) .

A total 38 people including prominent personalities, headman, representatives of youth organisations and locals of the area attended the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss all the security aspects and necessary measures to be undertaken by the locals and security forces to thwart any violent incident in the Panchayat Election in the area .

During the meet, the Company Commander urged the villagers to remain alert, vigilant and inform any suspicious move of persons to the AR.

The platform was provided to the locals to discuss the security perspective in the area and allow them to come up with suggestions, it added.
