Imphal, August 08 2015 : A three-day training programme for Haj pilgrims, organised by Manipur State Haj Committee, has kick started at MOBEDS office complex from today.

Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Md Abdul Nasir, MOBC and Science and Technology Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah, Manipur State Minorities Commission Chairperson Alhaj Helim Chowdhury, Wakf Board chairperson and MLA Fajur Rahim, MOBC Secretary M Lakhsmikumar and MOBC Director Kh Dineshchandra attended the opening function as dignitaries.

Executive officer Md Salauddin said that 137 people were earlier selected for this year's Haj pilgrimage from the State through online lottery.

However, after Chief Minister O Ibobi's request, the Union External Affairs Ministry has given permission for 326 pilgrims of the State.
