Imphal, August 07 2015 :
Condemning the negligence of the State Government on the ongoing demand for ILP in the State and manhandling of protesters by the police personnel, ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak asserted that the State Government should not forget the fact that all the Ministers and MLAs were elected by the people for the welfare of the society.
Instead of addressing the grievance and genuine demand of the people, the State Government unleashed the so called "law enforcing agency" to curtail the collective effort of the people in saving the indigenous people of Manipur, the statement said.
The elected Ministers and MLAs have no doubt failed to keep up on the manifestos propagated at the time of the election.
Rather than mending the needs of the people, the State Government has exercised its power against the democratic norms, it added.
The statement added that the Ministers and MLAs of the State Government should resign on moral ground in case the demand put forth by the people cannot be fulfilled.
