Imphal, January 07 2022:
While welcoming construction of the new Barak bridge by the BJP-led government in the state, Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) has questioned the collection of Rs 100 as tax from drivers for crossing the bridge by police personnel posted at the bridge.
In a release, MDA assistant secretary Khundongbam Sangitchoron said that if the drivers do not pay the money their vehicles are made to stop and kept waiting on the roadside.
This should not be done and the authority concerned should put an end to this, Sangitchoron demanded.
He warned that if the collection of money continues then they will take recourse to legal action.
