Thoubal, February 02 2017: A scuffle broke out between political workers of two candidates of Wangkhem Assembly Constituency at Thoubal Kiyam today leaving more than five people injured and four vehicles and one Bolero damaged.

The commotion occured during a flag hoisting function at Yumnam Umakanta's residence who is a supporter of the Kendra's MLA Meghachandra.

Police personnel rushed in to calm the situation but ended up firing tear gas shells.

The victims identified as Takhellambam Memicha, Yumnam Bino, Y Basanta were beaten and Loukrakpam Loidangcha, Loukrakpam Ibeyai and S Ibecha were hurt in the tear gas firing .
