AR destroys poppy cultivation in CCpur

Imphal, December 29 2024: Assam Rifles, in coordination with Henglep police station, destroyed around seven acres of illegal poppy cultivation in T Langhoimol village, Churachandpur district, on December 27 .

According to PRO IGAR (S), the operation, conducted as part of ongoing efforts to counter narcotics production and trafficking, underscores the paramilitary force's commitment to curbing the drug trade, which undermines social and economic stability in the region.

This action not only disrupts the root supply chain fuelling drug addiction and crime but also reinforces law enforcement s resolve amid prevailing tensions in Manipur, said the PRO in a release.
