Imphal, October 29 2017: 6 Assam Rifles of HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated 'Ningol Chakkouba' with local women at Canchipur COB, Imphal West district yesterday .

A press releas of PRO IGAR (S) said the function was to acknowledge the efforts of local Manipuri women for their important role in fostering peace and unity between the different communities in the State along with security forces .

The festival included felicitation and presentation of gifts to 17 women of nearby localities, it added.
