Body set up to fight for justice

In connection with rape case of a student of TG Higher Secondary School, a committee has been formed to fight for justice on behalf of the victim.
The committee was set up at a public meeting held today at Kongpal Lai Hiden where a number of resolutions were also adopted.
One foremost demand as resolved at the meeting was termination of main accused commando driver Yumnam William (28) of Khagempalli.
Life imprisonment of co-accused Thongam Tarun of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai who also acted in films besides being a singer was another demand of the committee.
Launching a poster so as to expose the two rapists and staging mass protest demonstration on October 29 when the duo would be produced before Court were other resolutions adopted at the meeting.
It was also agreed to launch different modes of agitation together with student bodies until justice is delivered.
It was earlier reported that the teenage victim was allegedly raped by William and Tarun after drugging her inside a fast food centre on October 20 .
