Anal tribe celebrates Chavan Kumhrin

Imphal, October 23 2012: The biggest harvesting festival of the Anal tribe 'Chavan Kumhrin,' was celebrated at Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong in Imphal organized by Anal Taangpi Valing (Imphal) amidst merry making and cultural programmes.

From the early period, the festival marks the end of the harvesting season when village elders headed by chiefs and priests offer part of the harvested crops to their God and then eat the remaining, said Chandel MLA Nunghung Victor who attended at the celebration.
