Imphal, March 21 2018: With an aim to empower women folk of Huidrom Village, 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) donated total of six electrical sewing machines to the women of the village.

The sewing machines will help the talented women of the area who were not able to earn a livelihood despite their skill for want of good sewing machines.

The event was attended by Zila parishad member Mr Rabichandra Meiti, village President H Raijen Singh(Huidrom) and Meira Paibis leader Geetachandra.

This gesture of Assam Rifles was well appreciated by the villagers and they expressed their gratitude and to the battalion for helping them.
