Imphal, March 20 2012: In an attempt to promote larger production of pig in Ukhrul district, a four-day training programme for 50 piggery farmers was inaugurated yesterday at Phungreitang, Ukhrul under the Rastriya Vikash Yojana.the Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Manipur.

The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by CM Paul, Assistant Director (Sericulture), Ukhrul; Dr Th Debendrakumar, Joint Director (Vety) and Khamasing Ahum, CEO (Fishery) as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Speakers at the inaugural function encouraged piggery farmers to adopt modern and scientific method in farming pigs, according to a statement.
