Imphal, December 18 2012: With the reported improvement in the State's financial condition the Finance Department has officially approved release of salaries to the Government employees with effect from December 20, thereby technically paving the way for the employees to celebrate Christmas fittingly.

The Finance Department has also issued an order today for clearance of salaries to the State Government employees.

In another development, an amount of Rs 89 crores under the Special Plan Assistance has been released to the State by the Planning Commission of India while there is high expectation that central government funds for execution of projects under the Accelerated Irrigation Beneficial Programme would be released within this month.
