RPF/PLA cadres held

Imphal, September 18 2015 : Based on a reliable information, a combined team of Bishnupur district police commandos including women police personnel, Imphal West district police commandos and 2/5 GR conducted a search operation and apprehended two RPF/PLA cadres on September 17, said a statement issued by the PRO, Police Department, Manipur.

The arrested individuals have been identified as s/s Sgt Maj Kabrabam Lele alias Kanta alias Ranbir (50), s/o (L) L Gourabidhu Singh of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai and Salam (N) Kabrabam (O) Pradita Devi alias Den (50), w/o Kabrabam Lele alias Kanta alias Ranbir of Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai.

Upon their disclosure, another RPF/PLA cadre namely Thoudam (N) Oinam (O) Victoria Devi alias Thoicha (46), w/o O Gandhi Singh of Kwakeithel Moirang Purel was arrested from Kwakeithel Moirang Purel on the same day.

Incriminating articles were also seized from their possession.

Investigation revealed that they were involved in extortion of money from Pradhans and Government officials of Bishnupur district, the statement added.

A case has been registered at Bishnupur police station for further investigation.
