'Kabok Chaiba' ritual kicks off

Bishnupur, January 18 2022: 'Kabok Chaiba', a traditional religious ritual has been started from today at Moirang.

The ritual was jointly organised by Ayangleima Ahal amadi Atonbi Lai Committee and Ibudhou Thangjing Interim Committee.

The ritaul of 'Kabok Chaiba' is marked by a religious procession across various villages in and around Moirang.

Speaking to media, Maibam Modhuchandra, priest of Moirang Thangjing Laiko, said the 'Kabok' (puff rice/paddy) are distributed a day early to every family and 'Kabok Chaiba' is conducted the next day.
