Imphal, January 16 2025: A combined team of Assam Rifles, Manipur police, representatives from Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) and District Forest officials destroyed approximately 4.8 acres of illicit poppy cultivation at Haopi Mollen village in Churachandpur on January 15 .

According to a press release issued by IGAR (S), the operation was aimed at eradicating the drug menace in Manipur as Assam Rifles continues to work closely with local communities and Government agencies as part of its War on Drugs campaign.

Large swathes of poppy cultivations have been destroyed in recent days.
