The proscribed RPF has greeted the people of Manipur, particularly Kabui community on the occasion of Chakan Gaan Ngai festival.
The upcoming Gaan Ngai festival may bring cordiality among different communities and it may herald a healthy and peaceful society, the outfit prayed.
A press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary said that Manipur is a land inhabited by different communities, amongst which the Kabui community is a major one.
Kabui community has their own religious rituals and festivals.
Stating that Kabui community have close fraternal relation with the Meiteis since ancient period, the outfit mentioned the names of legendary figures like Kabui Tomba, Salang Maiba etc.
Observing that the Kabui community have been successfully safeguarding their traditions and culture, the outfit asserted that Gaan Ngai is a very important and prominent festival for the Kabui community which is central in keeping alive the Kabui culture and tradition.
