Imphal, January 15 2022: Given the rapid rapid rise in the daily positivity rate and detection of Omicron variant, the State Government has put additional restrictions on gathering of people.

As per an office memorandum issued by Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, a maximum of 50 persons or half of the capacity whichever is less can gather in case of closed spaces and 200 in case of open spaces.

Saying that wearing of face masks in public places, gatherings and crowded areas is a critical Covid appropriate behaviour, the Chief Secretary directed the authority concerned to promptly penalize the defaulters.
