Imphal, December 13 2012: All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has urged the Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) to roll back its proposed indefinite public blockade considering the upcoming Christmas celebration.

In a statement, ATSUM said, it is the time for shopping for the general public and home coming for students and professionals from near and far away places to join Christmas celebration with their families and friends.

Although tribal in general have lots of grievances to be addressed by the Government, imposing a blockade at such a time of joy and merriment is unfortunate, ATSUM observed.

Saying that ATSUM being a tribal students' body would not shy away from the issues relating to tribal people, the body urged the KSDC to rollback the proposed blockade for the time being.
