Imphal, February 12 2025: Two hand grenades were discovered at the residence gate of former MLA Bijoy Koijam, representing Thongju Assembly Constituency at Thongju Pheijaleitong, early this morning.

According to sources, the grenades suspected to be lobbed by armed miscreants were found by the locals and family members of the ex-MLA.

A team of Singjamei police rushed to the spot and cordoned the area off soon after the bombs were discovered.

Later, the hand grenades were picked up by the Manipur bomb disposal squad and detonated at the solid waste dumping site at Lamphel.

A case has been registered at Singjamei police station.
