Imphal, July 10 2014: I, A Mobi Singh, President, Editors Guild, Manipur, on behalf of the Editor The Sangai Express (English daily) have given the following undertakings with All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), in a meeting held on 9th July, 2014 at the office of ANSAM.

That, The Sangai Express (English) tendered unconditional apology to ANSAM and to the Naga peoples for the defamatory and demeaning news headline report dated the 7th July 2014, 'UNC resolves to exact fine of Rs 1000 .

That, I admit the unethical journalism in reporting sensational news items in the past specially relating to Naga issue.

Further, agreed that The Sangai Express (English) will avoid diluted reportage statements on Nagas in the future so as to maintain peace and harmony in the region.

Furthermore, agreed that the Administrator will stop entertaining baseless and demeaning comments in The Sangai Express (readers online comments) with immediate effect.
