AR organises Ningol Chakkouba with fervour

Imphal, November 05 2017: 26 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated Ningol Chakkouba festival at Thoubal COB, Thoubal District today, conveyed PRO IGAR (S) in a press release .

The celebration included Pooja at Panthoibi Devi Temple, cultural dance performance by school children of Assam Rifles Middle School, felicitation and presentation of gifts and sweets to women including Meira Paibis followed by refreshments .

Speaking to media persons, Officiating Commandant, 26 AR, Lieutenant Colonel Bidyadaran said that Ningol Chakkouba festival can foster the ties between the people belonging to different communities of the State .

The efforts of the armed forces for organising the traditional festival were appreciated by the local populace, it added.
