Imphal, November 05 2016: In pursuit of their demand to upgrade Jiribam to a full fledged revenue district, the Jiribam District Demand Committee has imposed a 5 day economic blockade on the Imphal-Jiribam highway with effect from midnight of November 6 till November 11, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

Simultaneously it has been decided that JDDC along with civil society organisations of Jiribam will launch different modes of intense agitation during the blockade period and thirdly it was resolved that if the State Government does not take up any steps to fulfil the demand of the people, then future course of agitation will be intensified.
