Imphal, October 05 2015: A forensic expert of the State Forensic Science Laboratory today deposed before the Special POCSO Court, Imphal East during a trial hearing regarding the alleged rape case of a minor girl by accused Sandham Ibungcha of Uyumpok Mamang Leikai and the Court fixed October 12 for the next hearing.

The accused Sandham Ibungcha s/o S Subol of Uyumpok Mamang Leikai was produced before the POCSO Special Court, Imphal East under Section 5 (1) and Section 6 of POCSO Act 2012 from Sajiwa Central Jail where he is presently lodged in judicial custody.

The forensic expert gave his statement before the Court as the last prosecution.

The Court would hear statements of the alleged accused on October 12 .

The alleged rape case was reported in August last year following which the alleged accused Sandham Ibungcha s/o S Subol of Uyumpok Mamang Leikai was pulled up after a complaint was filed by the father of the minor victim girl at the police station concerned on August 10.Soon after the alleged accused was arrested by police, the case was handed over to the Women Police Station Imphal East.
