Imphal, September 05 2014 : Komrem Union, Manipur has strongly condemned the August 30 Ukhrul incident which took two lives and injured several persons.

The Union also deeply condoled the demise of these two persons.

A press statement issued by KRUM president, has appealed both the Government and UNC to avoid taking any steps which would cause inconvenience and hardship to the public, without rendering a positive result.

The Union also expressed their regret as civil organisations resorts to imposing bandh/blockade as a means to pressurize the Government.

The Government, it added, is yet to work out long term plans and strategies to tackle the issue of bandh/blockade in the State, despite its insistent occurrence.

The Union further appealed the UNC to withdraw the indefinite bandh/blockade, imposed by the Union following the August 30 Ukhrul incident on all National and State Highways, on humanitarian ground.

It also urged the committee to adopt other means to pressurize the Government.
