Imphal, September 03 2014: New Deputy Commissioner of Chandel District, Ksh Robert attended a review meeting of the health related programmes being implemented in the district yesterday.

Robert is also the chairman of District Health Society.

During the review meeting, the DC took note of the needs and difficulties faced by the healthcare providers in the district.

He assured that he would conduct the review meeting of District Health Society every month.

During the meeting, there was a first quarter performance presentation from all the Blocks under National Health Mission and Block specific needs and issues were highlighted and discussed for intervention through higher authorities.

The DC/DHS Chairman stressed on important points in addressing the issues such as staff shortage, infrastructure, transportation, regular power and water supply, network connectivity and ambulance availability in all the Blocks for ensuring better accessibility of health services by public and effective implementation of the various programmes.

Dr N Birchandra, District Mission Director/CMO and Dr Romi Ngoru, District Immunization Officer, Benedict Maring, State Ayush Consultant and Arun Meitram, UNICEF Consultant (RMNCH+A) were also present at the review meeting.
