National Integration Tour

Imphal, October 02 2018: Thoubal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (South) is organising a 15 day long National Integration Tour (NIT) for 24 students of various schools of Thoubal district of Manipur from 01 to 16 October as part of the Assam Rifles ongoing outreach programme to foster the spirit of national integration across the entire swathe of the country.

Brigadier Amit Kabthiyal, Sena Medal, Commander 9 sector Assam Rifles along with Mr P Brojen Singh, MLA Wanjing flagged off the tour at Phundrei headquarters of the Thoubal Battalion of Assam Rifles on 01 October.

The NIT team has commenced its onward journey by train on 02 October from Dimapur to the national capital.

The children are entirely in high spirits to be travelling by Indian Railways for the first time and pleased with the efforts of the Assam Rifles to have provided them with such a prospect of travelling outside Manipur.

The team will travel through the states of Nagaland, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh before reaching New Delhi on 04 October.
