WMC stages sit-in at Guwahati

Imphal, November 30 2021: The World Meetei Council (WMC), Assam State Unit staged a sit-in yesterday at Manipuri Basti Club field, Guwahati demanding inclu-sion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST list.

The sit-in was participated by more than 100 Manipuris living in Guwahati, said a statement issued by WMC today.

A memorandum was also submitted to Chief Minister N Biren Singh urging the Government to send the requisite recommendation to the Central Government for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST category, added the statement.
