FREINDS decry rape of minor

Imphal, December 31 2012: Coming out strongly against the rape of a 5 year old girl child at Mao on December 25, the Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS) has demanded fitting punishment of the accused, Raju Adivasi (28), a resident of Golaghat district in Assam.

In a statement, FREINDS said that the crime has come at a time when a movement is on to demand the implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State in the face of the continuing influx of outsiders.
