Imphal, July 30 2015:
The JCILPS Students' Wing has announced that it would boycott all Ministers and MLAs as well as this year's Independence Day celebration.
Moreover, the Students' Wing has decided to launch non-cooperation movement against non-local people.
Speaking to media persons at the Keishamthong office of MSF today, JCILPS Students' Wing convenor O Nandababu maintained that they would carry on the ongoing movement until and unless a new Bill similar to ILPS is passed and all those police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood are punished.
He appealed to the entire students fraternity of Manipur to stay away from this year's Independence Day celebration.
The convenor also called upon all the people to abstain from all public functions attended by Ministers and MLAs.
He then appealed to all the indigenous people not to hire non-local labourers for any kind of work and buy things from shops run or owned by non-local people.
Denouncing the act of detaining seven students till date in connection with the mass movement for enforcement of ILPS or a similar mechanism, Nandababu lamented that the Government has been treating the popular demand quite casually.
For any untoward incident that may break out in the course of the ongoing movement, the Government should be held responsible, Nandababu added.
