CCpur, March 30 2019:
The ruling BJP hosted a campaign rally for its candidate of the Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat with Chief Minister N Biren as well as the party's National general secretary presenting the party as pro-development and one which is inclined towards solving the political issues of the region.
At Classic Grande here this evening, BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav asserted that the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2016 does not contain anything which is inimical to the interests of the peoples of the North East and Manipur.
Addressing the rally at Tuibong peace ground, the Chief Minister said that he left the Congress party for BJP as he was fed up of witnessing bloodsheds, communal flare ups and displacement under the former regime.
The BJP, he said, doesn't identify anyone based on their religion, caste or creed, adding that its ideology is to ensure that each and every community live with respect, dignity and without any form of suppression.
He maintained that only the BJP led by Narendra Modi can take India to the level of a developed Nation as the country has been stuck as a developing nation even after 70 years of independence owing to the lack of target and vision by those who held power all these years before the BJP.
The Modi led Government, on the other hand, has a clear-cut goal and set the target for a developed Nation, Biren said while appealing the people to commit their votes to the party and receive development and political solutions in return.
On the other hand, the party's National general secretary Ram Madhav credited the N Biren led State Government for resolving many of the issues that gripped Churachandpur under the previous Congress Government.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, during the last Assembly election, promised to the people of Churachandpur that the party would resolve the issue which the people of the region were fighting for and with the coming of the Biren Government the prolonged standoff that had taken its toll on the life of the people had been settled and he continues to work for bridging the gap between the hill and the valley, he said.
He told the gathering that they were sitting on a gold mine and called on them to elect a person who will be working with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open up the State's fortune for the better.
The Modi Government has big plans for development of this region; Churachandpur and neighbouring districts, specially the border town of Moreh, he said, adding that Manipur will become the gateway to all Southeast Asian Nations.
"Once that happens the State will become like Singapore and Bombay an international trade hub", he added.
Madhav also claimed that Modi is committed to solving all the problems in the region and as such his Government has appointed an Interlocutor for the SoO groups to resolve the political issues.
'We are committed to resolving your political problems,' he said while warning the people from falling prey to the propaganda of other parties.
Modi will be PM for many years to come, Madhav said while calling on the people to use their vote wisely and elect someone who will sail along with him.
The BJP, he said, is a party to the ruling coalitions in the Buddhist majority State of Arunachal as well as in Jharkhand, which is home to the largest number of tribal population and negated the claims that the BJP is communal.
