PHSC inaugurated at Arapti Mayai Leikai

Planning & Development Authority (PDA) Chairman and Keirao Assembly Constituency MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei inaugurated a Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC) at Arapti Mayai Leikai in Imphal East district on Friday.
The inaugural function was graced by Mongjam Joy Singh, Commissioner, MAHUD; M Nishikanta Singh, Regional Chief, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), Manipur; Dr Lourembam Indira Devi, Chief Medical Officer, Imphal East; K Gyaneshwar Singh, Secretary, PDA and W Birchandra Singh, Pradhan, Kyamgei Arapti Gram Panchayat as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Lourembam Rameshwor said that in the last 7-8 years, the BJP Government has invested about Rs 100 Crore in Keirao AC to develop the health sector and provide necessary medical facilities to the people.
He shared that a quarter for doctors and nurses was constructed under MOBC at the health centre located in Keirao Makting.
He continued that the construction of North East's first Medical College of Homeopathy AYUSH at Keirao Khunou is nearing completion and the TB Hospital in Wangkhem is also functioning smoothly.
The MLA also highlighted that various development projects are in the pipeline including construction of bailey bridge in Arapti Shantinagar, roads in Arapti and other areas under Keirao AC.
Furthermore, Lourembam Rameshwor expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated PHSC would be able to take care of the medical needs of the people of the area.
M Nishikanta said that the PHSC was constructed under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of HUDCO and implemented by PDA Manipur.
He asserted that the construction of the PHSC began in May 2023 with a project cost of Rs 98.96 lakh.
"Out of this total cost the State Government's share was just Rs 0.85 lakh while the remaining Rs 98.11 lakh was funded by HUDCO", he added.
