Imphal, November 29 2012:
PREPAK (Pro) has decided to probe the controversy about possible match-fixing in the concluding matches of the 7th Manipur State League.
A press release issued by the outfit's assistant publicity and propaganda secretary Sunil M said that some people within AMFA have started tarnishing the reputed image of the football association for some years now.
They have been interfering in selection of coaches of some clubs.
When AMFA formed an enquiry commission with a retired Judge as Chairman, people were confident justice would be delivered in the allegation of match-fixing.
But the commission was disbanded and replaced by a two-men enquiry commission whose members were well known sports persons of the State.
One of the Members was L Nabakumar who was not only life member of AMFA but also chairman of technical committee.
As people started questioning about Nabakumar's inclusion in the enquiry commission, he resigned from the commission.
The controversy about possible match-fixing in the 7th Manipur State League was a result of a serious lapse on the part of AMFA, it said.
It further asked all concerned to ponder whether AMFA executive council members should not resign from their posts until the ongoing enquiry is completed.
Saying that the ongoing enquiry would be able to etsablish the facts, the outfit announced that it would launch its own investigation.
