Kangchup Chingkhong Med Dispensary inaugurated

Kanggui, December 28 2013 : The newly repaired/renovated Medical Dispensary under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council has been inaugurated today at Kangchup Chingkhong, Sadar Hills.

Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council inaugurated the Dispensary as chief guest in the presence of Lunthang Haokip, EM, in-charge of Veterinary and Dispensary, SHADC and Zilthang Touthang, chairman, Finance Committee, SHADC.

Dedication ceremony of the Medical Dispensary was conducted by Satlam Hangshing, chairman, K Chingkhong Christian Revival Church.

While speaking at the function Haokholal Hangshing pointing out that Kangchup Chingkhong Medical Dispensary is one of the oldest dispensaries in the state expressed confidence that the Dispensary will be a huge relief for the people of the area in many ways.

While lauding efforts of K Chongkhong Village chief Henkhongam Hangshing and the people of Kangchup area for their contribution in repairing the medical centre Haokholal urged the people to ensure safe and smooth functioning of it.

The SHADC chairman also distributed red shawls to village chiefs of Kangchup area and assured to provide requisite materials for upgradation of the Dispensary at the earliest.

Lunthang Haokip and Zilthang Touthang also urged the people of the area for proper maintenance of the dispensary.

Tracing back history of the newly inaugurated dispensary L Hemsat (Retd) ARCS narrated that Kangchup Chingkhong Medical Dispensary was established in the year 1955 and known as Kangchup Chingkhong Civil Dispensary recounted that one Dr Govodhon, the first doctor of the state looked after the dispensary during 1957 to 1959 .

He continued that during that period the dispensary was under Medical Directorate but when District Council came into existence it was transferred under District Council as per relevant Act.

Conveying gratitude to SHADC Chairman, his colleagues and the Chief Executive Officer of SHADC Chongpu Kipgen (MCS) for their contribution and efforts in inaugurating the dispensary Hemsat further urged authority concerned for further infrastructure development of the dispensary.

Apart from SHADC Medical and Vety Dept staff members and local Church leaders, representatives of many civil bodies including Kuki Inpi Twibul (Kangchup) Lhang, Kangchup Area Chief Association, Kangchup Area Tribal Youth Organization and Kangchup Area Women Human Rights were also present at occasion.

A prominent Kuki Gospel Artiste, who is also a denizen of the Kangchup Miss Thenkim Khongsai enthralled the function with her melodious voice.

A grant feast marked the inauguration ceremony.
