ARGU to hold convocation on Nov 30

Assam Royal Global University will organise the 4th Convocation ceremony on November 30, to celebrate a significant milestone in its journey of academic and societal contributions.
The event will be presided over by Assam Governor and visitor of the University Lakshman Prasad Acharya, with union minister of commerce and industries Piyush Goyal delivering the convocation address in the presence of Assam education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, and commerce and industries minister Bimal Borah.
In a release, the University informed that this year, a total of 1502 students, comprising 771 undergraduates, 651 postgraduate and integrated course students, and 25 PhD scholars, will graduate.
Among the graduates, 50 gold medallists and 50 silver medallists will be honoured for their exceptional academic performance.
Additionally, two students will receive the Chancellor's Gold Medal, and five others recognised for excellence in areas such as literary and cultural activities, community service, mentoring, and sports, while honorary degrees will be conferred on former Chief Justice of India and MP Justice Ranjan Gogoi (Doctor of Laws), former director of CSIR, Padma Vibhushan Dr Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, former chairman of ISRO Padma Vibhushan Dr Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan (Doctor of Science), and Ambuja Neotia Group chairman Padma Shri Harshvardhan Neotia (Doctor of Literature).
This year's convocation will celebrate Nagaland as its theme, highlighting the state's rich cultural heritage and its role in the Northeast.

According to vice-chancellor Prof YSR Murthy the 4th Convocation marks not just an academic achievement but a life milestone for the students as it is a testament to their perseverance and the university's steadfast commitment to nurturing talent and inspiring excellence.
Royal Global University, a pioneer in private education in Northeast India with nearly 8,000 students, is recognised for its eco-friendly campus, cutting-edge facilities, and industry-oriented programmes.
The university has pledged to become carbon-neutral within the next three years, reflecting its dedication to environmental responsibility.
Initiatives such as energy-efficient infrastructure, waste management systems, and tree plantation drives underscore its commitment to sustainability, the statement added.
