Online one day legal awareness programme held

District Legal Services Authority, Chandel in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) organised an online Legal Awareness programme on 'Rights of daily wagers and labourers during the pandemic under the Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Scheme, 2016 .
It was attended by the judicial officers, panel lawyers, Para Legal Volunteers and representatives of Labour Unions of the District.
The programme began with a welcome address and a keynote speech from Arshad Saeed Shah, MJS, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Moreh.
The programme culminated with a vote of thanks from K Kopham, Panel Advocate, DLSA, Chandel.
SENAPATI
Similarly, under the aegis of NALSA, the DLSA Senapati also organised a one day online awareness programme with the Labours/Workers, Panel Lawyers, PLVs of DLSA, Senapati today as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The programme was participated by Koshia Mao, Additional Public Prosecutor to District & Sessions Court, Senapati; Samom Ibjen, Chairman, DLSA, Senapati; A Tarunakumari Devi, Secy, DLSA, Senapati; Ksh Maheta Devi, JMFC, Mao; S Marysena, Retainer Lawyer, Front Office of DLSA, Senapati; Labours, Panel Lawyers and PLVs of Senapati.
TAMENGLONG
DLSA Tamenglong also organised an online awareness programme for PLVs and senior citizens of Tamenglong today on the topic 'Mitigating problems faced by senior citizens with primary focus on their wellbeing during Covid pandemic with active involvement of PLVs'.
The programme was participated by K Nirojit, MJS Secretary DLSA, Tamenglong; Aribam Guneshwar Sharma, MJS, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman DLSA, Tamenglong; L Pinky, Advocate; Leonid Ahanthem, MJS, Civil Judge Junior Division cum Judicial Magistrate First Class, Noney and other Judicial officers, PLVs, and senior citizens.
THOUBAL
DLSA Thoubal in association with MASLSA under the aegis of NALSA also organised an online awareness programme on 'Loss of Livelihood: Problem faced by daily wage earners and labours during the COVID-19 pandemic and benefit schemes like Manipur Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare schemes' yesterday.
The programme was attended by L Ibomcha Singh, Registering Officer, Manipur Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board; PLVs, panel lawyers, members of CSOs and construction workers as nominated by the Legal Aid Clinics under DLSA Thoubal.
