ZYF lifts restrictions

Imphal, February 28 2016:
Following a meeting with the Chief Minister this afternoon and the assurance given by him, the Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has decided to lift the ban on ongoing National and International projects in Zeliangrong areas, which was imposed since February 20 .
During the meeting today, which lasted for almost one hour, the CM regretted for not materializing the demand of the people and stated that ZYF agitation against the Government for non-relocation is justified and genuine, and apologized on behalf of the State Government.
The meeting agreed to relocate the office of DC and all allied district level offices at the Secretariat Complex.
The DC would issue necessary orders directing all the district head of departments with effect from March 1and Chief Secretary would issue another instruction for immediate completion of incom- plete works.
The DGP would take up necessary steps for stationing of security personnel, the Works Minister along with other MLAs and officials would inspect the Secretariat Complex after the Assembly session is over.
The agitation would be resumed in the event of not fulfilling the commitment of the State Government, it cautioned.
CM O Ibobi Singh and other leaders including Works Minister Kh Ratankumar, Vice-Chairman HAC Z Kikhonbou, MLA Janghem-lung Panmei and Ksh Biren, MLA represented the Govt while the ZYF was represented by its president Titus Kamei, David Kamei, Dinreibou Thiumai, Disinrei Gangmei, Hemen, Gaikhangjang Gangmei, Gaiganglung Gonmei, according to a press release issued by the general secretary of ZYF.
