URF chairman held in another case of IED blast

Imphal, September 27 2017: Kh Gopendro, chairman of United Revolutionary Front (Lanheiba), has been formally arrested by City police station today in yet another case of bomb blast at Khwairamband bazar temporary market shed which killed three and wounded 20 more .

On March 11, 2015, three individuals, including a student of Modern College, were killed and more than 20 were wounded, in a powerful IED blast at Khwairamband keithel temporary market shed .

Kh Gopendro alias Lalheiba alias Lanheiba Meitei alias Khelen s/o Kh Sangai of Keirenphabi Mamang Leikai, was produced before the Court after six days of remand in City police station in connection with the case of IED blast inside a betel leaf godown at Thangal bazar on December 15, 2014, along with a prayer for 15 days judicial custody remand till October 15.The Court heard the case record and satisfied with the police prayer, remanded Lanheiba to seven days police custody till October 3 .

The URF chairman will also be taken to Guwahati for his Court appearance on October 10, in connection with an ongoing NIA trial against him.
