Gunmen loot Rs 36 lakh from private financial institution

Imphal, March 27 2021: Unidentified gunmen looted about Rs 36 lakh from a private financial institution in broad daylight at Kakching today.

Sources said the private financial institution named 'Business Credit Management Financial Investment Services', located at Khongnang Mari Phangba was looted by three armed unidentified persons at around 9.30 am.

The firm's 'financier' M Johnson (32) had just arrived when the three men approached him and forced him to open the door.

They took him to a room at gunpoint and threatened him not to raise alarm.

As other staff of the firm were not present, the three men easily managed to loot about Rs 36 lakh and fled in a four wheeler vehicle.

After getting report of the incident, Kakching Police arrived and took stock of the incident.

Search operations are on, however the armed men are yet to be traced and identified, added the sources.
