Kangpokpi, September 26 2020:
The Kuki Students' Organisation, general headquarters has asserted that dropping Nemcha Kipgen from the Council of Ministers defies logic and added that it goes against the avowed pledge of the BJP to ensure 33 percent reservation for women in the State Assemblies and Parliament.
Not surprising that the decision to drop Nemcha Kipgen has raised concern and invited condemnations from different organisations with some even questioning the political strategy of the BJP, said KSO and added that instead of removing her, it would have done the BJP Government a whole lot of good if it had moved in for more women empowerment.
At a time when the States all over are anticipating and have no objection of 33 percent women reservation in the State Assemblies and Parliament, such act of removing Nemcha Kipgen baffles logic, said KSO and questioned the motive of dropping the lone woman representative, that too a tribal against the spirit of inclusiveness.
It was unexpected, said KSO and termed it as an act of negligence.
KSO then said that the State Government must show its commitment to PM Modi's "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" slogan and resolve to show that it is the land where women are truly empowered and truly involved in Nation-building.
