Thoubal, September 25 2019: Rally cum mass campaign on banning single use plastic organized by Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) under Swachhata Hi Seva was held at Kakching today.

The rally commenced from Kakching Municipal Council and headed towards Kakching market passing through Kakching DC road and culminated at Yumbimacha High School.

Chairperson KMC, Naorem Shanjitkumar; vice-Chairperson Ksh Jhaljit, Councillors, school students and members of Self Help Groups 'Day Nulm' took part in the rally.

Regarding the rally, Executive Engineer KMC, Naorem Ramchandra said that the rally was held under the guideline of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and urged the public of Kakching to segregate solid wastes into different bags and disposed them to the garbage truck sent by the Kakching Municipal Council for proper solid waste management to keep the surroundings of Kakching neat and clean.

Before the commencement of the rally, the participants pledged to keep the surrounding area neat and clean, to spend 100 hrs every year i.e.2 hrs per week for cleanlines activities etc.
