Magazine "Heeden Da Chumthang" released

A quarterly magazine titled "Heeden Da Chumthang" which is a collective work of the members of Book Club Imphal was released by Retd IAS, RK Nimai in a simple function organized by the Club at Imphal Peace Museum, Maibam Lotpa Ching in Bishnupur District today.
The function was attended by RK Nimai, Retd IAS; RK Budhimanta of RKCS Museum; Minashree Mairembam, Curator of Manipur State Museum and INA War Museum Moirang; and Pooja Elangbam, Assistant Commissioner Imphal West, who is also the founder of the Club, as dignitaries.
Many distinguished persons and members of the Club were also present in the function.
Speaking at the occasion, Pooja Elangbam said that the Club was established with an aim to enhance and promote the imaginative power and creativity of the youth by learning through different medium like painting, writing articles, poetry etc, while adding that all the articles and poems of the magazine including drawings and pictures were the work of the members of the Club.
She continued that painting workshop was also conducted at RKCS earlier to boost their creativity.
"The magazine 'Heeden Da Chumthang' is a collection of different short stories sourced from different parts of the State including the popular tell-tales found in hill areas and valley.
It is a platform where many young artists can articulate and promote their artistic skills", she added.
She also sought support from the public to help in popularizing the magazine so that it reaches far and wide of the State which will further motivate her to produce the next edition with great enthusiasm.
