Stating that the forthcoming drive would also cover total prohibition on use of intoxicating substances by the students, he said regular inspections would be carried out to ensure that academic decorum and sanctity of educational institutions are religiously complied with by all concerned.
Announcing complete ban on sale or consumption of intoxicating items as well as tobacco products within or vicinity of school/college areas, Thoithoi also cautioned against using mobile phones during school/college hours.
With regard to dress code, he informed that girl students should wear 'phaneks' at ankle length and under no condition wearing of uniform above the knee would be tolerated.
The Committee member also prescribed collar and full/half-sleeve shirt for the girl students while cautioning that appropriate action would be taken against students found violating the dress codes as well as defying all prescribed norms.
Thoithoi further urged school/college authorities and teaching staff for cooperation in strictly implementing the dress code and other proposals/restrictions.
