Imphal, May 24 2018: Immediate medical assistance was provided by the medical team of 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) to Mr Santosh Chawdhary, aged 30 years, resident of Ukhrul who met with an accident at around 1330 hours on 24 May 2018 while riding a motorcycle in village Phayang near Phungyar.

The individual was trying to overtake a vehicle when he got hit by Shaktiman from the opposite end resulting in him sustaining several injuries.

The individual was brought to the unit hospital 17 Assam Rifles in a critical condition with severe injuries to face, calf and arms.

First aid was provided immediately to the patient.

Total of eleven stitches were provided under anesthesia and dressing was done.

Patient was stabilized and further referred to RIMS, Imphal for further management by surgical and orthopedic specialist at around 1600 hours.
