Gaikhangam ready to quit MPCC post

MPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has expressed his desire to relinquish the post of MPCC president.
He was speaking at a reception function hosted by Tribal Affairs and Hills Department in his honour today.
"As I have been given new assignments within the Government, I wouldn't like to hold on to the post of MPCC president for long", he stated.
Stating that he has been holding the post of MPCC president for the last eight years, Gaikhangam said that he would relinquish the post in accordance with indications of the AICC high command.
"But I just cannot give up the post simply because I wish to", he added.
Conveying his gratitude to the organisers of the reception function, the Deputy Chief Minister exhorted all the employees to discharge their duties sincerely and diligently irrespective of their ranks.
He also pledged to work with dedication and honesty.
The reception function was also attended MTDC Chairman MLA Manga Vaiphei and other high ranking officials of the department.
