Post-mortem of slain AR men conducted

Post-mortem of the six 29 Assam Rifles personnel who were killed in yesterday's ambush at Chandel district has been conducted today at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) morgue.
The bodies will be flown to their native States tomorrow after a wreath laying ceremony at the 12 Bihar Hqs at Tulihal.
State leaders and officer of IGAR (South), 57 Mountain Division and 3 Corp will attend the programme.
The bodies were brought early morning today to JNIMS Hospital by personnel of 29 Assam Rifles and accompanied by SDPO of Tengnoupal PS.
The post mortem was conducted by doctors of JNIMS hospital at around 10.30 am.
CO of 45 Assam Rifles and some officers of 45 Assam Rifle also visited JNIMS morgue where the post mortem was conducted.
The deceased Assam Rifles personnel are identified as Junior Commissioned Officer Subedar Baldev Kumar (55) s/o Kripa Ram of Himachal Pradesh, Havildar Susarjit Baria (27) s/o Rela Barla, Rifleman Pawan Singh (39) s/o Baldev Singh of Jammu, Rifleman Mahesh Gurung (43) s/o Surendra Singh of Uttarakhand, Rifleman Bhupendra Kumar (32) s/o Gauri Shanker of Himachal Pradesh and Akhilesh Kumar Pandey (29) s/o Ganesh Pandey of Uttar Pradesh.
The AR personnel who brought the bodies to Imphal from Joupi 29 Assam Rifle headquarters stated that though they started last night but reached JNIMS hospital today morning due to the pathetic road condition.
He also stated that the incident site is located some 9 kilometres away from Joupi 29 Assam Rifles headquarters under 28 Sector and some 19 kilometres from India and Myanmar border.
The Assam Rifles personnel also stated that the search operation conducted by Assam Rifles and other reinforcement in the incident site and surrounding village concluded last night itself and there was no report of anyone arrested during the search operation.
On the other hand Tengnoupal Police station has taken up a case regarding the incident.
