Free LPG stoves distributed

Free cooking gas stoves were distributed to 25 Below Poverty Line (BPL) households of Thangmeiband A/C under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme, at the residence of the Constituency's MLA, Kh Joykisan, today.
Speaking to media persons, the secretary of Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) said that under the scheme, the total cost of a stove and gas cylinder is Rs 2057 .
The gas sets (stoves and cylinders) were distributed to the said 25 households by the MLA, through TAKDO, as the households could not afford to pay for these sets, he said.
Stating that around 380 households in the Constituency filed necessary application for procuring the said cooking gas sets, he said that necessary arrangements will be made to provide the items to those who failed to get it today, one today, by including the households into the data of the 2011 Socio Economic Caste Census.
On the other hand, he also appealed to the people to submit necessary complaints to the organisation if any of the agents in the Constituency fail to distribute the allotted amount of rice under the National Food Security Act.
