Tangkhul heroes painted on walls of Major Bob Khathing road

Ukhrul, December 22 2021: To add to the elegance and beauty of Major Bob Khathing Ralengnao road, Ukhrul, youths of Kasomtang have painted the walls along the road with portraits of Tangkhul legendary heroes and other custom designs.

Chonmi Raleng inaugurated the wall painting on Tuesday in a simple function held at Kasomtang.

Major Bob Khathing road is located on the North-West of Ukhrul town, 5 km from Mini Secretariat Office complex, Hamleikhong Ukhrul.

A 500 meter road stretch within the locality was named after Major Bob Khathing Ralengnao for his immense contribution and dedicated service for the nation, particularly for the upliftment of Tangkhul community.

The wall painting included various Tangkhul legendary heroes like Major Bob Khathing Ralengnao, Suisa Rungsung, Yangmaso Shaiza, Rishang Keishing, Wungmareo Shaiza and HA Raihao.

The youths also painted different pictures of traditional clothes worn by Tangkhul forefathers.

Apart from beautification of the road, Kasomtang youths painted the walls with portraits of different Tangkhul personalities to spread awareness and acknowledge their achievements in different fields.

The wall painting project of Major Bob Khathing road was reportedly sponsored by grandson of Major Bob khathing.
