Local clubs play a major role in people's welfare, says AMUCO's president

Imphal, November 22 2021: A two day enrolment programme of Chief Minister gi Hakselgi Tengbang (CMHT) card was held at TRYSA Club, Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai today organised by Social United Clubs Organisation (SUCO).

The programme was attended by Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, president, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Takhellambam Dwijo Mangang, president, Imphal East District United Clubs Organisation (IEDUCO), Laishram Vivekananda, advisor, SUCO and Waikhom Jiban Meitei, president, TRYSCA Club as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang stated that CMHT scheme is a life saver especially for the poor and needy which provides cashless treatment during critical ailments at empanelled hospitals.

Lauding the initiative taken up by SUCO to enrol the people under its jurisdiction mainly the poor and needy who are in need of such health schemes, he appealed all the local clubs of the State to follow the footsteps of SUCO and take up similar measures to ensure the eligible beneficiaries avail the benefits of the CMHT scheme.

Expressing concern over the present trend where the benefits of such welfare schemes are being availed by the near and dear ones of local MLAs, Zilla Parishad members, Pradhan, Councillors etc, he urged the local clubs to take the reins and work in the interest of the needy people.

He also maintained that if the local clubs strive earnestly for the betterment of the masses then politicians would not be able to work against the interest of the people.

Hence he urged the local clubs to work for the welfare of the society and rectify any irregularities rather than falling prey to the false promises and propaganda of the self styled public leaders and politicians.
