People throng foreign stalls

On the second day of the Manipur Sangai Festival, people were seen making bee-line before the Thailand and Tanzania stalls which offered women's jewellery and ornamental items including watches.
Meaw who was running the Thailand stall of ornamental and jewellery items said that this was the first time she was participating in the Manipur Sangai Festival.
She said that they came after receiving official invitation from the Thailand Government.
Altogether 10 Thai stalls including a food stall have been opened in the festival.
Meaw said that she found the climate of Manipur comfortable.
She further remarked that Manipuri people and Thais have similar physical features.
On being asked how they communicate with their customers, Meaw said that have hired helpers who can speak Meiteilon.
Regarding the prices of the goods being sold at her stall, she said the goods are being sold at the same prices as was sold in Thailand.
Mariah from Tanzania said that she came here with her husband to participate in the Manipur Sangai Festival for the second time which according to her is quite exciting.
The second day of the festival features classical dances, Maibi Jagoi, folk song, Dhon Dholok, Qawali etc.
Indigenous games like Mukna and Yubi Lakpi would be played at Mapal Kangjeibung tomorrow.
